The Good in People

I had another post plan, but I felt I needed to write this one, first. I think I have grown jaded when it comes to people, so much that I have forgotten there is plenty of good in everyone. For example, I was planning on paying someone to mow the yard. When I got home, the yard had already been mowed. This person didn't even want any pay. One time I cashed my check and the money inside an envelope.  I must have been tired because I didn't even know I had dropped the envelope on the ground. Lucky for me a teenage boy was behind me and told me what I had done. He didn't have to. He could have picked it up and had plenty of candy money for at least three months. Well, depending on how much candy he could consume.  He could also just keep going. I was so surprise I wanted to hug that child. An amazing little girl once wrote that people were really good at heart. May God help me to remember those words when I don't see the goodness in others right then.

Dead Blogs

I noticed quite a few blogs that haven’t had a post on them since 2012, and I have seen blogs that have had no post as far back as 2011. Shame.  I read a few of these blogs, and I thought they were pretty good. I especially like blogs that have plenty of pictures. As I was reading one blog, I wondered why this person stopped posting. I couldn’t get enough of what the blogger had to write. Maybe he or she felt like I do sometimes that nobody was reading what they wrote. I have faith though. Maybe someday all the bloggers who stop posting will start up again.

HOW TO SEE YOUR SAMSUNG GALAXY TABLET SCREEN ON TV

One of the best solutions for me to view my tablet on my TV was to use an adapter. I have a Samsung 10 inch pro tablet, so I have to use the OEM Samsung hdmi adapter for my Samsung galaxy tab 10.1. I tried other ways to view my entire screen on my TV, including using Allshare Samsung cast adapter. Allshare doesn’t work on my tablet. I have read reviews that say different, but I have tried everything to get the product to work. There is no enable button in setting for Allshare on my device. However, I did find a post in Amazon and a YOUTUBE video where someone setup their Samsung tablet to a TV using the OEM cable. I included a video from ebpman. I had to make sure I had my tablet plug in, or I wouldn’t see the screen on my TV. Once I had it hook up, I could view my entire screen that meant I could play any movies or games that’re on my tablet to my TV. The whole setup took me about 3 or 4 minutes tops. The price for the adapter is 38 dollars, but you can find a bargain on Amazon beside the cable is much cheaper compare to the 68 bucks I spent on Allshare.

FAITH

I became a follower of Christ when I turned forty. Oh, I believed in God since I was a child, and I was baptize in a church. However, I never really knew Him until the day I asked God to help me find a better job. I was working for the casino hotel as a maid making less than minimum wages. I couldn’t even afford my health insurance.  I had only three more payments on my car, and I didn’t have the money. I had already borrowed the money for the last month payment, but this time I didn’t have enough. I was cleaning seventeen or eighteen rooms and bringing home around 140 or 160 dollars a week. My car note was three hundred a month, and that didn’t include my car insurance not to mentioned gas. Plus I also had other bills that needed to be paid. The hotel where I worked was forty miles from my home so I spent a lot of money on gas. The casino at the time did provide a bus, but most of the time I would be late cleaning the rooms so I would have to miss my ride. I remember having a talk with my mother about the situation. I wanted out.  She made me realize that I needed to believe God would help me.  My car note was due in eight days, and I didn’t see a way how I was going to pay for it. I pray that night and in the morning I went to a temporary job agency and sign up. I remember talking to God all the way home. When I made it home that day, I received a call from the agency the same day! I started that job the next morning making a dollar and a half more an hour. By the end of the week I had enough for my car payment and some money left over. Two months later I had paid off my car. When the job ended, God provided another job that I like. I worked for Kelly Services for about two years until the Lord provide me with a steadier employment.

New Problems

I think I caught the mother load of virus on my main computer. I have all my editing software on that computer so right now I'm using my chromebook to right this post which is the reason why it's short. I don't like to write without my software. I'm in process of fixing the problem. Lord knows I don't want to buy another computer.

About Writing Software

I had a different post plan, and I usually write my post a day earlier so that I can go over it before I post. I notice quite a few mistakes if I don’t.  However, I seem to have deleted that post.  I love to write, but I sometimes think that I have dyslexia because of the huge pile of misspell words. I do have a number of software helping me with my writing.  I use Microsoft's words, WhiteSmoke, SmartEdit, Natural Reader and Ginger.  Except for Natural Reader, WhiteSmoke, SmartEdit and Ginger are editing software.  Natural Reader reads my words out loud as I type or the entire paragraph.  I plan on doing another post soon about the benefit of Natural Reader.  I also read the e-book version of Painless Grammar.  I do feel these programs and the book has helped me with my writing, but there is plenty of room for improvement. I’ll just keep my faith that I can overcome this obstacle.

The Trouble with Alzheimer

I wrote a month ago that my mother had dementia. She and I both have been trying to cope with this disease, and it has been heartbreaking for me to watch my smart, sweet mother lose her memory.  Both my sister and I try to help her. We spend as much time as possible with her.  She had a bad episode last week. Today she doesn’t remember that night, but I do. The memory is so fresh like it happened today. I keep hoping someone will find a cure to stop this disease, and my mother will be able to hold on to some of her dignity.

Best Movie Of The Week

I watched the 2013 Lone Ranger movie this week.  I was surprise by how good this movie was.  If I expected a carbon copy of the old TV show, I was wrong. This movie had lots of action, but it also had some nice humor throughout the movie.  Spoiler. One funny scene happened when a young boy dress like the Lone Ranger comes into the museum and sees a statue of an old Indian.  As he gets closer, he finds the Indian is alive. The Indian traded a dead mouse for the boy's popcorn.  The look on that boy's face as he took the Indian trade was priceless.  There's another scene where the prostitutes/owner of a salon takes care of a rowdy customer in an unusual manner.  She has a gun inside her wooden leg, and she knows how to use it.  There are so many good scenes. I especially like William Fitchner role as the creepy villain who kills the Lone Ranger's brother. I thought one or two scenes towards the end where a bit long, but I enjoyed this movie.  My rating for the Lone Ranger  is a B.

About Tech

Some people might not consider the Chromebook a laptop, but I do. There are many features that I like about the Chromebook. The first is the response times. I lift the top and boom I'm  staring at the password. Next favorite feature is the Chromebook has one of the fastest load up browser I have ever seen. I think it takes about two seconds to completely load a page depending on your internet this is really helpful for me. For example, say I want to look up a recipe, but I have to be somewhere else in the next ten minutes. Well, it takes my Acer 14 inch laptop fifteen minutes just to warm up before I can search the web. I can load the Chromebook and search the web in thirty seconds. Another great feature is the low price. You can find some Chromebook for as low as 149 dollars. I did my homework and found the Acer C720. The best one I could afford. I also checked out the reviews. Yes, there are some drawbacks. You can't download software, but I consider it a trade off. I use my Chromebook mostly for fun, and when I don't have time to wait.

Raining Days

The rain has been coming down in my hometown for seven days! I actually love it when it rains. I always sleep better when the rain comes, especially at night. However, seven days of rain, and I'm starting to be reminded of Noah not that it has been raining day and night the whole seven days, but it sure does seem like it. I was planning on taking pictures of my hometown and posting them, but as soon as I stepped outside I felt drops of water so I had to abandoned that idea because then the rain really came down oh, well maybe tomorrow.  I think the weather is effecting my mother's feet.  Her feet swells because of the surgery that she had on her right foot six months ago. She doesn't walking as much is not helping her feet. Unless I keep after my mother to get up and walk, she'll spend her time in the bed watching TV. She does move around later in the day, but it's mostly from one chair to the next.  I have turned into a drill sergeant because I'm constantly on her to walk. I don't mind doing this for my mother. I just wish I didn't have to argue with to get her to exercise.
